Blackmagic Design stands for creative video technology that offers professional quality at affordable prices.
Founded in 2001 in Australia, the brand Blackmagic Design set out with the goal to "make the highest quality video accessible to everyone." In this spirit, the company made a significant impact in November 2002 with the introduction of the DeckLink Capture Card, which allowed for professional-quality video editing on desktop computers. As the first affordable option, it ushered in the era of democratizing professional video production. Other groundbreaking products include the ATEM switchers for the broadcast and streaming sectors, the comprehensive post-production software DaVinci Resolve with integrated colour grading, and cameras such as the URSA Mini Pro and Pocket Cinema Cameras. These products have provided smaller production facilities and independent creatives with access to markets previously reserved for large studios.
Since then, the product portfolio has been continuously expanded with the aim of offering a comprehensive professional production workflow, spanning from image capture through processing to publishing – from hardware to software.
In addition to cameras and unique editing and video post-production software, Blackmagic Design also offers a wide range of professional broadcast solutions, such as video production switchers, green-screen technology, and innovative streaming, encoding, and cloud solutions.
