With the PYXIS 6K, Blackmagic Design presents its first box-style camera. Many have been waiting for this full-frame digital film camera with a 6K sensor - now it's available!
With this type of camera, accessories play a crucial role. In this newsletter we would like to introduce you not only to the camera itself, but also to the matching accessories and our equipment recommendations.
These include the new Ranger lens from Laowa with a focal length of 16-30mm and the memory cards from Wise.
PYXIS 6K
The PYXIS 6K is a versatile, modular box-style camera with numerous mounting options. Equipped with a 6K full-frame sensor, it is available in three different mount options: PL, L and Locking EF mount.
Thanks to its compact design and features, it is an extremely attractive choice for demanding cine productions

Scope of supply
The scope of delivery includes the activation key for DaVinci Resolve Studio as well as the standard and SSD plates, which are ideal for attaching additional accessories.
A Rosette Plate can also be purchased, which offers even more fixing points and therefore provides additional flexibility. We have compiled an overview of the other accessories for you below.
PYXIS Monitor Kits
An extremely useful accessory for the PYXIS 6K is the PYXIS Monitor - a versatile 5-inch HDR touchscreen monitor with full camera control that can be flexibly mounted almost anywhere. The monitor comes with a practical sunshade and offers the following features:
- 5-inch HDR touchscreen monitor with a brightness of 1500 nits
- Full camera and menu control directly via the monitor
- Up to 60 fps
- Resolution of 1920 x 1080
- Attachable sunshade
- Rear-facing LED tally
The monitor is available separately, but we recommend purchasing it in one of the specially compiled kits, which include the necessary accessories for attachment to the PYXIS 6K.
PYXIS Monitor Kit
This kit contains everything required for mounting and flexible use of the monitor:
- Swivel Mount
- Fixed Mount
- Dovetail Shoe for additional mounting options
- USB-C viewfinder cable: for connecting the monitor to the camera
PYXIS Monitor EVF Kit
The EVF kit extends the functionality of the monitor to use it as an electronic viewfinder. It contains all the components of the monitor kit plus:
- EVF Bracket
- URSA Cine EVF Rotating Bracket with 19mm carbon fiber rod
- Two short 15 mm carbon fiber rods
URSA Cine Handle/EVF
Particularly practical for the PYXIS 6K is its compatibility with the tried-and-tested URSA Cine Handle and the URSA Cine EVF, which can be used perfectly in combination.
The robust URSA Cine Handle is attached directly to the top of the camera and offers additional mounting threads for further accessories. This makes it easy to expand and customize the camera setup.

Laowa Ranger 16-30mm T2.9 Cine Lens
Laowa extends the focal length range of the Ranger series for film and other professional video applications. With a range of 16-30mm, this lens is not only ultra wide-angle, but also remains impressively light and compact at just 800g. Particularly noteworthy is the minimum focusing distance of 33cm, which enables creative close-ups.
The lenses in the Ranger series harmonize perfectly with the PYXIS 6K camera: they offer the right mounts with PL and EF mounts, are full-frame lenses and are ideal for high-quality cine shots thanks to their special design.

- Cine zoom lenses for full format

- Constant aperture T2.9: Enables uniform exposure over the entire zoom range

The lenses are available either individually or as a 2- or 3-lens bundle. They can also be purchased in the standard or lite version.

The PYXIS 6K camera has two CFexpress Type B slots. We recommend the memory cards from Wise, which are characterized by their reliability and suitability for professional recordings. Wise offers a wide range of cards that are tailored to different production requirements:
