Deity PR-2ii
The PR-2ii from Deity is a "wearable-first" recorder designed specifically for videographers, small teams, and creatives who can’t afford to lose audio recordings due to wireless signal issues. In addition to its 32-bit float recording technology, the device features a new, low-noise dual-ADC preamp, more than 20 hours of battery life, wired and wireless timecode, and Sidus audio control.
The PR-2ii’s dual-ADC preamp architecture ensures lower inherent noise and a wider dynamic range. As a result, quiet dialogue remains rich in detail, while sudden loud moments are preserved in 32-bit format. You get more usable audio material right from the first take—and more leeway to edit it later.
With a dynamic range of 124 dB or more and an ON level of -117 dBV (36 dB gain, 150-ohm source), the PR-2ii produces a clearer, more detailed sound even in demanding production environments. The improved preamp performance benefits both 24-bit stereo workflows and 32-bit floating-point mono workflows.
The PR-2ii combines PSRAM-based audio buffering with Deity’s recording protection. This ensures usable audio even if a recording is unexpectedly interrupted or a file is corrupted. Its IP54-rated housing is dust- and splash-proof. In addition, a new rubber gasket has been installed around the battery compartment. A more robust screen cover made of 6H tempered glass and the button controls ensure an even more durable front panel.
Built-in gain presets for popular lavalier microphones-including the DPA 4060/4061, Sennheiser MKE 2, Countryman B3, and Shure TL47-make it easy to get started quickly. One-touch recording, 75-Hz and 150-Hz low-pass filters, intelligent noise reduction, and a soft-knee limiter help stabilize audio quality even in changing environments. This speeds up the workflow for experienced users and helps smaller teams quickly produce usable audio recordings.
The PR-2ii can receive timecode both wirelessly and via a wired connection. As a result, the device integrates seamlessly into Deity’s timecode system.
With more than 20 hours of recording from two AA batteries, wired and wireless timecode, remote control and support for memory cards up to 1 TB, the PR-2ii is designed to keep working through long shoots and demanding locations. A bright 600-nit colour display and built-in headphone monitoring give operators the information they need at a glance. Supplied with the Avora lavalier microphone, foam windscreen and lapel clip, the PR-2ii is ready to capture clean, synchronised audio straight out of the box.
