Ikan Aura 19 POE++ NDI Teleprompter w Full NDI EncodingDecoding & IP Tally Light
NDI teleprompter was developed by US manufacturer Ikan for video productions in which a prepared speech should appear natural and harmonious in front of the camera. Thanks to its NDI (Network Device Interface) integration, IP-based control, and versatile connectivity, the teleprompter is particularly suitable for modern, network-based workflows. Whether it's corporate quarterly reports or news, product launches or video conferences, the speaker in front of the camera can convey even complex messages to participants without breaking eye contact with the camera.
The teleprompter features full NDI encoding/decoding as well as traditional 3G-SDI, HDMI, composite, and VGA inputs. It can be connected to a network via standard Ethernet cables, eliminating the need for video cables or special hardware. Thanks to PoE++ technology, both power and NDI data are transmitted over a single Ethernet cable.
The 3mm thick, optical 65/35 beam splitter glass has a mirror coating on the front with 65 percent transmission and 35 percent reflection, and an anti-reflective coating on the back to prevent ghosting. This design provides the camera with distortion-free, color-neutral images, while the speaker sees clear, easy-to-read text.
Ikan's professional teleprompter product range includes three different camera mounts. This makes the system compatible with a wide range of cameras - from professional ENG cameras and cinema cameras to mirrorless cameras and camcorders.
At the heart of the teleprompter is Ikan's 19-inch prompter monitor with SDI, HDMI, composite, and VGA inputs and a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. An OSD menu allows you to adjust contrast and brightness as well as the individual RGB color channels. The aspect ratio can be set to 16:9, 4:3, or full screen; alternatively, the aspect ratio is automatically detected and adjusted accordingly.
Ten preset buttons allow quick access to various NDI streams. If multiple NDI streams are available on a network, each stream can be assigned to a specific preset number (between 1 and 10). The monitor then switches to the respective stream at the touch of a button.
The monitor's tally light glows red or green. It can be controlled in three ways: as an IP tally light that works directly with Vmix, via contact closure via the RJ45 tally connection on the monitor, or via NDI when the monitor is used as an NDI encoder. A green tally light usually means that the camera image is being sent to a monitor without going on air. A red tally light indicates that a camera is live or on air.
The integrated, web-based graphical user interface (GUI) enables remote management of NDI streams. You can assign presets, activate or configure encoding and decoding options, select and display NDI streams, adjust IP settings, and perform firmware updates.
At the touch of a button, the monitor image is mirrored both horizontally and vertically—ideal for video conference presenters who can see themselves as if in a mirror. The rugged, custom-made aluminum housing and acrylic screen protector protect the NDI teleprompter monitor from scratches, dust, and impacts. The buttons on the aluminum housing make it easy to navigate through the menu functions or change the input source.
NDI teleprompter monitor has an integrated web-based graphical user interface (GUI) for remote management of NDI streams. This intuitive interface allows you to assign presets, activate or configure encoding and decoding options, select and display specific NDI streams, adjust IP settings, and perform firmware updates.
The teleprompter hood is attached to the frame with screws and additionally secured with magnets. This ensures great stability. Thanks to the extra-large hood opening, even some of the largest lenses available can be used.
Ikan teleprompter comes in reusable, custom-made foam packaging that helps keep the kit safe and tidy during assembly and disassembly.
The teleprompter is optionally available with an additional NDI talent monitor (model PT419W-NDI-TMN). Using a 15 mm mounting system (included), this 19-inch widescreen monitor is easily attached under the teleprompter, allowing the presenter to follow the presentations live. Technically, this monitor is identical to the teleprompter monitor.
Both versions of the teleprompter are also available as optional travel sets (models PT419W-NDI-TK and PT419W-NDI-TMN-TK). Here, the teleprompter is combined with the Ikan PT-Case-4U rolling case. The foam included in the basic version of the teleprompter is for this rolling case.
